About the role

Upp are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the delivery of a quality FTTH network. The Project Manager will be the point of contact for ensuring appropriate actions are taken with and by contractors whilst carrying out field-based activities. Dealing with all safety, quality and build related issues throughout the project lifecycle with the Regional Delivery Manager in support.

So what does the day to day look like?...

Key Accountability & Responsibilities include:

  • Drive the delivery of the build programme, working with stakeholders to deliver on-time, safely and to standard

  • Stakeholder management and engagement with the Highways Authority, ensuring that statutory legislation is adhered to

  • Monitor and track progress against planned deliverables, ensuring stakeholders and project sponsors are kept fully informed

  • Identify and monitor schedule related risks and support mitigation measures. Reporting and escalating as appropriate

  • Ensure works meet the UPP quality standards through the auditing of completed works to facilitate the release of properties into sales and support the application for payment process

  • Take ownership to investigate, and work through to resolution, any complaints received from members of the public in relation to Upp’s build

  • Regular interaction with the Design Team to ensure changes are clearly reflected in plans held by the contractor and supervisor

  • Produce and manage snagging lists through to completion

  • Key Requirements

  • Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with multiple stakeholders is essential

  • Good understanding of fibre-based telecommunications and FTTH network build

  • Experience of Delivery Management and delivering to pre-defined project schedules

  • Subcontractor management/auditing in the field (both Civils and Fibre)

  • Good understanding of wayleaves/Network Access

  • Understanding and interpretation of risk assessments & method statements

  • Have an awareness of Construction Design Management Regulations Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Openreach PIA product, standards & rules

  • NRSWA accreditation

  • PIA SA002Safety Underground

  • PIA SA001 Safety Overhead

  • S6 Duct Survey

  • S5 Pole Survey

  • Health & Safety Accreditation

  • Asbestos awareness

  • NRSWA
