About The RoleBase Location: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Orkney or Shetland | We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception.Salary: £44,100 - £66,100 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableThe Key Responsibilities Of The Project Manager Will Include- Leadership of multi discipline project teams involving both staff and external contractors, to ensure project delivery is achieved through a competent, motivated and focussed team using robust systems, tools and techniques to support the delivery activities.
- Identifying and forming an appropriate team to execute each specific project which you will lead and manage to deliver key project deliverables through each project phase.
- Assessing project feasibility, development of options and initial designs, submission of Planning Applications and delivery of key project Gate documentation.
- Development of overhead line/underground cable routes and onshore substation site selection, including selection of appropriate technologies to meet project requirements, coordination of key surveys and studies to inform designs, coordinating initial design works.
- Applying and adhering to the Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects as well as leading the project teams in alignment with the SSE Safety Culture.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal and experience in developing, managing and reporting on significant project budgets (£10M and above) and an understanding of the Electricity Transmission network would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Experience of the NEC3 Suite of Contracts, with a focus on the Engineering and Construction and Professional Services Contracts.
- Experience in project lifecycle including design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- An ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver multiple project outputs and have a proven track record in successful delivery.
