Position Title: Project Manager
Grade: 11
Reports to: Head of Packaging Development
Location: Kilmalid
Department: Packaging Development
Purpose:
Manage Packaging Projects through the Development and Delivery phase of the PD Business Process from Marketing / Business concepts to first bulk production meeting the Business criteria for design, function, cost, and quality. Manage a team of Packaging Technologists and lead and facilitate cross functional project teams.
Scope:
- Reporting to: Head of Packaging
- Positions Reporting to the Job Holder(s): 3 / 4 Packaging Technologists
- Key Dimensions: Leads a team of Packaging Technologists and cross functional team/s to implement packaging change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Manage the introduction of projects in line with the approved PD Business process.
- Support the Business process through the provision of appropriate documentation, including timing plans, detailed risk assessments and Stagegate documentation.
- Manage the PD Risk Management Process for all PD projects identifying the risks and required mitigating to ensure successful project delivery, escalating where necessary to NPD Steering Mtg.
- Ensure that all testing and trialling identified in Mitigation tracker is carried out and documented.
- Ensure that Specification systems are updated and accurate in line with PD Business Process.
- Enrol and engage the nominated Suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time meeting quality and financial targets.
- Be aware of IP rights and confidentiality agreements in relation to component development.
- Ensure component developments and approvals are in line with Product Life Cycle Process.
- Monitor all financial costs associated with PD Projects, including: Business Case, Obsolescence, COG’s, Capex requirement, trials etc.
- Responsible for the management of the Packaging Technologists ensuring training & development in line with Business needs.
- Manage post project reviews in line with PD Business Process.
- Manage and maintain on-going system to ensure compliance with ISO9001:2008 and ISO22000:2005 in respect to development & delivery stages of the PD Business Process.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Technical background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a progressive manufacturing / commercial environment.
- Educated to Degree Standard or Industry equivalent, preferably with a Project Management Qualification.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the Business.
- Financial and commercial awareness required.
- Experience of project management within a process driven environment with experience of using Project Management Software.
- Ability to lead and develop a Team.
- Ability and experience in creating and leading cross-functional teams to deliver success.
- Fluent PC skills, including excel, PowerPoint, Word, and an appreciation of MRP systems.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Flexibility to travel in line with Business needs.
