Now is a great time to be joining the Estates and Facilities team. As part of the Transforming Lives strategy, the University is undertaking phase 1 of a new and ambitious masterplan for our campus and estate, which seeks to improve the quality and performance of our estate through implementing an industry leading approach to project delivery and construction. We are developing exciting new delivery models for our projects and having established the Hallam Alliance with BAM, BDP/Arup and CBRE we are also now looking to develop a new delivery model for minor works, which form a large bulk of the projects we deliver each year. Our commitment to continual improvement is supported by our externally accredited ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001 Management Systems.

We have a large and challenging Estate which requires significant investment each year in long term maintenance works, whilst at the same time, we are developing the campus for the future. We require additional project managers to work with us to deliver a wide range of projects, from small maintenance type projects to large scale refurbishments.

We’re therefore looking for professionals who can demonstrate the expertise, experience, skills and knowledge to help us develop and deliver this new approach and help us to meet our ambitions whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation. The ideal candidates for these roles will share our vision of a safe and healthy world of work and education, a commitment to best practice, and the ability to forge excellent working relationships with internal and external team members whilst managing a busy workload.

You’ll need to be ambitious, customer focused, naturally collaborative and have the credibility and experience to work with other professionals to help create and maintain a best practice approach. You will need the confidence to challenge, engage and support senior managers, professional and technical staff both in the Estates Team and across the wider organisation. If this sounds like you, then we’d be delighted to hear from you.

For this job we particularly welcome applications from minoritised communities who are underrepresented in this area/ this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.

The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
