Project Manager- Building Surveyor

We are recruiting a Project Manager - Building Surveyor in our Property team.

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in our commitment to capital investment across the estate which includes upgrades and improvements to our colleague facilities, building structure improvements, and upgrading our refrigeration units to support our Planet agenda to become carbon neutral by 2035.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience in building surveying to support our wider team with technical knowledge and drive projects forward.

This role will include travel to sites, typically 3 days a week travelling and 2 days from home or a base location and can include national travel. Occasional overnight stays could also be necessary.

• Reviewing proposed project plans and providing technical advice/support
• Writing detailed project specifications for tender purposes
• Tendering projects and reviewing/evaluating and appointing third party contractors
• Project Managing capital/revenue works from the appointment to sign off
• Supporting the Property Management team with landlord dilapidation schedules. To include surveying, pricing, tendering and completing works
• Raising capital expenditure requests (“capex”) and submitting into the approval process
• Working with Finance and Property Team as required to resolve all queries relating to the capex process
• Supporting the wider Property Team in all matters relating to our Planet agenda

• Ideally 5 years experience in a similar role
• Must have experience managing multi-site projects
• RICS/CIOB or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of Planning process
• Knowledge of JCT contracts
• Refrigeration installation would be beneficial
• Asbestos awareness
• Retail / Foodservice exposure
