About the opportunity:

Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

Jacobs Nuclear provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. We are looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.

As a result of increasing demand for our services, there are significant opportunities for you to support a key project within the nuclear business.

We are currently looking for a Project LFE Co-Ordinator to join the team in Birchwood.

Role & Context

For the benefit of the BEPPS2 project deliverers, current and future stakeholders, asset operators and asset maintainers the role holder will provide practical support in the creation, curation and management of material that facilitate Learning From Experience (LFE).

LFE, a key part of Knowledge Management, and how and when LFE is used enables the identification, sharing and promotion of best practices to create a culture of learning that supports continuous improvement and optimises project delivery.

Delivery of the BEPPS2 Project is being undertaken under the management control of the Programme and Project partners (PPP).

Role holder ideal Requirements,
  • Work effectively within a team delivering a Major Project for Sellafield Ltd, in a collaborative arrangement between Sellafield Ltd, the 4 Lot Partner organisations that collectively deliver as the PPP and the broader supply chain.

Job Description
  • Carry out the practical arrangements required to make acquired material presentable, accessible, logically indexed and well referenced so its provenance is clear.
  • Identify the target audience, the Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) who will benefit from the acquired learning
  • Categorise and Index existing and incoming LFE material into a navigable learning resource highlighting who is affected and at what project stage it is useful
  • Establishes the means for collecting LFE material in a convenient and accurate way
  • Establish and maintain a LFE library as a learning resource for the benefit of BEPPS2 and future projects.
  • Take accurate and meaningful notes when following up LFE submissions with the author/provider to capture context, intention and potential future application
  • Adopting best practice on the management of LFE resources develop and control the process for receipt, identification, and storage of information
  • Reports and provides metrics on information holdings and use
  • Supports the Project Information Manager and Project Librarian in the development of a Project Benchmarking approach that aligns with Infrastructure Projects Authority ‘Best Practice in Benchmarking’
  • Collaborates with PPP Services and the Sellafield Ltd Intelligent Client organisation to help improve the centralised rollout of LFE at the point of establishing new projects and the development of material that encourages the collection of new LFE candidate material as projects progress.
  • Assist in the compilation of reports to leadership.
  • Assists in conducting information audits
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience of working within major project delivery in a highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of gated process project delivery and the collation and curation of stage related information from multiple supply chain organisations operating in co-located environments.
  • Experience of supporting external Project/Programme reviews conducted by key external stakeholders which, by way of example for BEPPS2, would include the Infrastructure Projects Authority, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and client led review such as those undertaken by Sellafield Ltd.
  • Experience of working on projects/programmes with Protectively Marked information, or similarly high levels of information and personal security.
  • Experienced in the management of large quantities of information in both digital and physical forms.
Essential Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
  • IT skills, particularly of those within the Microsoft Office suite that demonstrate the ability to assemble and/or prepare high quality key management documents.
  • SharePoint to include setting up for projects and user management.
  • The ability to work effectively in an agile project environment where a blend of Office and Home Working may be required.

Education

Level 4 (England, Wales & Northern Ireland)/Level 7 (Scotland) or a lower level of formal qualification supplemented by experience.

The general standard of secondary education GCSE level achieved must include Maths and English Language at grade C or above (new grading structure 4).
