Job description:

We are looking for a Project Lead Engineer to join our client’s team in Hinckley.

The Project Lead Engineer will drive and facilitate the delivery of the assigned projects for the client’s New Technology and New Model Introduction Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • On the assigned projects:

o Represent EES in all project technical forums

o Report project status

o Identify support required on projects

o Specification impact analysis (overall impact sheet)

o SCR impact assessment

o Creation and management of WPs

o Resource forecasting consolidation

o Bike allocation

o DPT progress reporting

o Ensure all project-related meetings are scheduled, attended and monitored consistently.

o Ensure accurate project reporting to stakeholders.

o Identify and mitigate potential schedule conflicts.

o Maintain a high-level timing plan to drive cadence of the programs.

o Drive progress of assigned projects towards completion, using appropriate judgement in

determining when to escalate issues.

o Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities, working with the project team to determine mitigation and appropriate contingency plans.

o Continually monitor the program activities and take appropriate action to keep all projects on plan.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement:

o Tools & Methods for project timing management

o Develop and continually improve processes for efficient resource scheduling across multiple projects covering our current support, New Technology Roadmap and New Model Introduction Program (NMIP).

o Ensure processes/procedures are in place to ensure deliverables and milestones are being

met on a day-to-day basis by the teams.

o Agree project metrics with key stakeholders.

o Track best practices within the project planning community.

  • To undertake and assist with duties as required by your Manager.
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required by your Manager.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Proficient scheduling resource for multiple cross-functional teams on multiple projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft project or similar.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in workflow analysis, optimisation, and continual improvement.

It Would Be an Asset If You Also Have:

  • Knowledge of full Systems Engineering lifecycle / V model
  • Previous experience working within an automotive / manufacturing / industrial environment.
  • Experience with PREEvision
  • Knowledge of agile and waterfall methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills, clear and concise written and verbal skills.
  • Comfortable in timeline/milestone deliverable negotiations with a worldwide supplier base.

Education:

  • BEng or MEng in Technical subject with modules covering project planning, design lifecycles etc or equivalent and relevant experience.
