An amazing opportunity to join a massive client within the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls are in place. You will be responsible for all financial aspects of the Business Units, partnering with the BU Director and reporting to the Divisional Finance Director.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and help present budget/forecast. Review and analyse movement.
  • Produce accurate monthly P&L for the BU with variance analysis to last budget.
  • Produce month end reports as required.
  • Run end of month meetings with BU Director to check robustness of end of project projections.
  • Identify, manage and reduce unnecessary cost and ineffective activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of the accounting systems and data.
  • Control accounting postings and maintain back up documents.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant - minimum 5 years PQE
  • Experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar management role - Ideally with a Construction background although not necessary.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, use of MS365 Business Central (advantageous – not essential)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of advanced accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards, including in-depth familiarity with GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations, encompassing revenue recognition and complex cost structures.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques, utilising financial modelling, and accounting software.

Salary

  • Up to £60k
  • Company car/Car allowance
