Work Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What You Will Do

Working on a product design projects for a wide range of companies covering many industries. The purpose of this role is to assess the product requirements, including costs, manufacturing feasibility and market requirements; the Project Engineer will prepares working designs for a range of products across a variety of industries such as automotive parts, aerospace components and whole aircraft structures, turbine, marine and electrical engines, mechanical instruments, automotive vehicle and ship/marine structures, plant and machinery equipment, domestic electrical appliances, building systems and services, and electronic computing and telecommunications equipment as well as packaging. Other key areas of the role include producing final design information for use in preparation of layouts, parts lists and also preparing specifications for materials and other components.

PERFORMANCE AREAS

PROJECT ENGINEERING


  • Ability to hands on problem solve, often challenging technical problems
  • Work to understand a customer’s request and develop ways of meeting their requirements
  • Develop small / medium (<£50k) size repeat and new proposals with the team manager

PROJECT MANAGEMENT


  • Project delivery responsibilities on time and on budget.
  • Technical management of projects

COMMUNICATION


  • High level, effective communication, both verbally and written
  • Ensures all communication is responded to in a timely and professional manner
  • Encourages good team relations through inclusion and effective team participation

PLANNING & ORGANISATION


  • Plans ahead and works in a methodical, systematic and organised way, both personally and encourages this behaviour within amongst colleagues

What You Will Need

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering or related subject)
  • Post-graduate qualification preferable
  • UK Driving license

Experience

  • High degree of technical competency in a least one area of CAE
  • Experience of using HyperWorks, Industry Solvers and Optimisation Technology
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time
  • Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an engineering environment
