DescriptionStorengy UK has a fantasic opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing business to manage, develop and deliver New Business Projects. We have ambitious plans for growth and the position will esure that projects are delivered without SHE incident, to agreed cost, programme and quality targets.
Key Activities/ Accountabilities
Safety
- Ensure projects achieve Storengy SHE standards
- No SHEQ incidents on New Business Projects
- Manage engineering contractors to ensure designs meet technical specification, budget and schedule requirements
- Develop scopes of work for design and engineering delivery activities
- Carry out monitoring of progress to confirm value for money and schedule delivery
- Work with Client organisations / local authority to obtain relevant planning permissions
- Agree procurement strategies with Procurement Team
- Develop technical scopes of work / equipment specifications
- Carry out technical evaluation of tender returns
- Support Procurement Team during negotiations with Works Contractors / Equipment suppliers
- Develop Project Execution Strategy
- Support the development and monitoring of project schedules
- Support the development and monitoring of project cost
- Agree with Client construction strategy and programme
- Manage the Works Contractors as required
- Review of Works Contractor work methods and plans to ensure efficient working.
- Technical Management of Works Contractors (resolving technical queries / concession etc.)
- Review quality of Works Contractor activities including witnessing of testing
- Monitor Works Contractors are compliant with regulatory and permit requirements.
- Carry out regular safety audits of the Works Contractor to ensure high HSE standards are maintained
- Ensure that all non-conformances are clearly documented and approved by the appropriate authority.
- Ensure a complete set of records are handed over to the Client at the end of the contract.
- Ensure all Construction activities adhere to the CDM Regulations. Supply information to partner Contractors to enable effective planning and delivery of site works.
Experience
/ Skills
- Minimum 5 years project experience with knowledge across all the engineering disciplines
- Experience of working in renewables / biogas would be an advantage
- Good communication skills and close liaison with the Client and project team for the preparation and delivery of technical documentation throughout the design process
- Computer literate
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage a range of changing priorities
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent – desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely - desirable
- CDM, Advanced Safety Auditing, CCNSG - desirable
