WORKING HOURS:Full Time - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm

THE COMPANY: Bridge Greenhouses Ltd. have been at the forefront of the commercial glasshouse construction industry in the UK and Ireland since 1985 supplying and equipping modern commercial greenhouses to Growers, Garden Centres and Research Institutions throughout the UK.

THE ROLE:As a Project Coordinator / Project Manager youwill be required to assist with and manage the construction of the structures, as well as the installation of the services for our glasshouse projects. In addition, it will be your role to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Full training in all aspects of the role will be provided, and no previous experience in the glasshouse industry is required. You will also benefit from the full support of our in-house designers and experienced project managers throughout your training and beyond.

The role will often involve the coordination of several projects at the same time, so flexibility and willingness to travel would be a necessity. You will be required to attend our Chichester office for meetings and initial training, so living within a commutable distance would be recommended. If successful within the role, you can expect to progress through the company to a more senior position, where you will oversee projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and once qualified fully project manage the builds and liaise with builders & clients.
  • Regularly visit sites to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Coordination of materials, plant and labour.
  • Manage health and safety files with the assistance of our in-house H&S advisor.
  • On site problem solving with the help of our experienced designers and project managers.

THE CANDIDATE: We are ideally looking for a candidate with some experience in the building & construction industry, or a good level of practical aptitude in construction/structures. Candidates such as construction workers, site supervisors, project managers, contracts managers etc. will all be considered. A competitive salary will be offered, based on experience and qualifications.

Higher education is preferable, however applicants with good experience in the construction industry will also be considered. Applicants must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You must have good IT skills, and be familiar with packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Horticultural construction projects are often run with many moving parts and tight deadlines, so someone with an aptitude for organisation, time keeping and delivering a high standard of work would be essential.

Key Experience / Characteristics:

  • Must be fluent in English and have good written communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word is essential
  • Must have a good initiative and have a practical aptitude
  • Full & Valid UK Driving Licence is essential for this role
  • Previous experience in the building & construction industry would be desirable
  • Any previous experience in CAD drawing would be an advantage but not a requirement.
