Barclay Meade Finance & Accountancy are recruiting for a Project Accountant to join Merlin Entertainments shared service centre in Basingstoke.

Barclay Meade are excited to be partnering with Merlin Entertainments for the next phase of their recruitment drive within their Basingstoke based Finance Shared Service Centre based in the heart of Basingstoke.

Merlin Entertainments are the name behind some of the most recognised brands such as Legoland, Sea Life, Alton Towers and the London Eye to name but a few. Barclay Meade has supported the growth of their finance shared service centre since conception in 2019. The finance team currently stands at 80 heads. In this role you will be a key part in the Project Accounting team and will work with relevant departments to provide financial analysis and insights on major business projects.


Project Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Project Financial Reports
  • Ensure Project accounts & records are up to date
  • Journal processing
  • Project balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensuring Projects are in line with company compliance and controls
  • Close activities including timesheet journals, irrecoverable tax accruals etc.

Project Accountant Skills:

  • Part Qualified - ACA, ACCA,CIMA
  • Previous experience of working within an international shared service centre or equivalent is advantageous
  • Previous involvement with Projects and large data sets
  • Proven track record with month end closing
  • Proven experience of using analytical and decision-making skills
  • Experienced as a team player and confident communicator
