Job Overview

The Programme Manager: Mental Health Delivery will form part of the West Yorkshire (WY) Mental Health (MH), Learning Disability (LD) and Autism Programme Team, supporting the Programme Director and workstream SROs to deliver improvements to the quality of care across a range of Mental Health services and acting as a key interface between the Trusts within our Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Collaborative.

Main duties of the job

The role will include programme management and delivery responsibilities including the scoping, design, implementation, delivery, management and evaluation of a portfolio of workstreams which form part of the overall WY MHLDA Programme priorities. This includes: Adult Secondary Care (Inpatient) Mental Health pathways, Community Mental Health Transformation, Complex Rehabilitation, and Older People’s Mental Health.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

Main Duties of the job:Describe what the candidate will do – 100 Character minimum
  • Leading programme management for mental health workstreams across WY, ensuring all workstreams are meeting delivery expectations
  • Working closely with workstream SROs, project managers and clinical leads to provide support and challenge, providing targeted capacity to take work forward
  • Ensuring all mental health workstreams have clear objectives, clear metrics and clear outcomes in mind and regularly report progress on these to the programme board
  • Ensuring all mental health workstreams are involving service users in co-production
  • Representing and advocating for mental health across other WY programmes
  • Ensuring appropriate engagement and support from a diverse range of senior stakeholders and external organisations
  • Communicate the vision for the programme and the WY Health and Care Partnership, supporting the development of strategy and practice that supports this vision.
  • Communicate, engage and build relationships with key stakeholders to influence the transformation of mental health services across WY
  • Manage relationships to achieve a common purpose and realise mutual benefits
  • Provide mental health subject matter expertise to other WY transformation programme
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to the development and delivery of new programmes where necessary within the scope of the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Programm
  • Interrogate and analyse, sometimes highly complex and contentious information to support the delivery of clear project reporting and project outcome
  • Write and submit regular high-level reports for the programme board showing progress against milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies, making recommendations where a range of options may exis
  • Develop key performance indicators and milestones for specific programmes and projects, manging conflicts and ensuring that interdependencies are managed effectivel
  • Developing new service models, care pathways and interventions through a project and programme management approach, and supporting clinically effective practice in care services
  • Ensures co-production with service users and a robust approach to consultation, engagement and tracking of proposed outcome
  • Quality assure and review programme and project management approache
  • Be a champion for best practice, learning from experience and from others, supporting the spread of innovation within the organisation and beyon
  • Ensuring all project documentation is stored and used effectivel
  • Contributing to the development of project and programme approaches and ways of working across organisations and the programme
  • Acting as a champion for patients and their interests, involving the public and patients in the policy development and decision-making of NHS England and NHS Improvement
