We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and skilled individual to join us on a Full time 12 month Fixed Term/Secondment to support the Commissioning and Contracting function within the Primary and Community Care team. You will be supporting Primary Care Networks and Integrated Community Services in line with Dorset’s Sustainable Transformation Plan (STP), the Clinical Services Review and The NHS Long Term Plan. You will be part of the leadership team within the Directorate which commissions Primary and Community Services connecting GP, hospital, community, social care and mental health services.

The Post holder will provide key leadership and programme management in delivering the main responsibilities for full delegation and commissioning of primary and community care ensuring the adequacy and quality of primary and community care provision in Dorset. This includes monitoring of service provision and contractual performance of core/national and local contracts working closely with General Practice, Primary and Community Care Networks, NHS England, NHS Dorset’s Business Intelligence & Finance, Quality and Medicine management teams.

The post holder will contribute to supporting the strategic commissioning development of national and local integrated primary and community care services. This involves the co-ordination of review, design, planning and implementation of services, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Flexible working for the post may be required to meet the needs of the service with occasional evening meetings.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a confident, flexible, pro-active and responsive approach combined with the resilience to deal with shifting priorities and demands.

They will also have strong organisational (to include project and programme management knowledge), technical and analytical skills, to report and advise on provider contract performance utilising internal and external BI systems. You will also have experience with contract monitoring and management, ideally within primary or community care, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, experience of leading and managing programmes and experience of working with a variety of stakeholders.

You will be joining a positive, highly motivated, supportive and proactive Primary and Community Care team. You will have the opportunity to work from Vespasian House, Dorchester or Canford House, Poole, however the team work across the two sites.

We are moving to a hybrid model of working; a mix of home and office based, please consider this when applying.

There is a requirement to travel, as the successful candidate will need to visit premises across Dorset. A car driver is therefore essential.
