Professional Development Business Administrator - Apprentice

Salary Banding: Apprentice Rate - £4.30 p.h

Hours:37.5

Location: Remote Working/Home-Based

Purpose of Role:

The Professional Development (PD) Business Admin Apprentice is responsible for Talent and Induction administrative duties, whilst undertaking a formal qualification in Business Administration. This includes, but is not limited to creating presentation content, updating spreadsheets, taking minutes and data inputting. This role is line managed by the PD Talent Manager and the apprentice will work in collaboration with others.

The role involves wide administrative support and communicating, both in writing and verbally to stakeholders within the business. They will adopt a proactive approach in supporting the PD Talent Manager with Talent and Induction related programmes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated, driven and wants to progress within a HR function. This is a fully accessible role which is home based with occasional, pre-arranged travel for team meetings.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the 20% off-the-job training is arranged with the PD Talent Manager

  • Takes a clear interest in seeing tasks are successfully completed

Responsible for:

  • Update and maintain Talent and Induction project plans
  • Collate data and other relevant information
  • Review processes and make suggestions for improvement
  • Update and review Talent and Induction resources
  • Create presentations
  • Timely delivery of projects/resources
  • Any additional administration tasks that maybe required to support the PD Team

Essential experience:

  • Experience of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sensitive to the need of privacy around confidential information
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload whilst managing own time
  • Demonstrate good Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Ability to work independently for short periods of time
  • Friendly and helpful attitude

Experience Desirable:

  • Customer and relationship building skills
  • Calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of the childcare sector
  • An understanding of confidentiality and its importance

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to undertake Level 3 Business Administrator qualification (Essential)
  • A-C grade in Maths and English (Essential)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (Desirable)
  • School qualifications
