The Metabolics production site continues to grow its sales of Vitamins, Minerals and Sports Supplements both domestically and internationally. We are a fast-paced, agile and ambitious company and we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team as Trainee Production Technicians. You will be joining our highly-skilled production crew with responsibility for manufacturing and packaging of capsules, liquids and powder products. Production is carried out in a ‘clean-room’ environment and so high standards of hygiene and adherence to regulatory detail are essential. The role requires confidence in machine operation - a full training programme will be provided.

The applicant will work under the supervision of senior production technicians and will be responsible for weighing, mixing, machine operation to produce final product formats, packing. Monitoring of quality throughout the operation is of paramount importance. Our processes are both manual and automatic. The company has invested in the latest machinery and so successful candidates will have the ability to take on machine setting tasks.

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience. This is a skilled technician’s role and, as such, is rewarded with a high salary that recognises the high calibre of personnel needed to carry out the task

Hours: Day Shift. 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday. Start time 08:30 and Finish Time: 17:30 with one hour unpaid lunch break.

Main Responsibilities

The applicant will work to agreed standard operating procedures in clean-room environment in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

· Weighing of powder ingredients using various balances/scales following the SOP procedures and advice by the production manager.

· Further processing of powder such as sieving of the powder.

· Mixing of powder ingredients using mixers/blenders following the SOP procedures and advice by the production manager.

· Operation of filling equipment and final packing of product

· Operation of capsule making equipment and running the potting process

· Raw material booking in and carrying out computerised stock control processes

· Responsibility for taking samples of raw materials and final products to hand over to QC

Other Responsibilities

· Follow all Health & Safety protocols and monitor ongoing safety in line with the company Health & Safety Policies

· Follow the Quality Manual protocols. Manually complete all batch records and enter data into the company computer system as well looking up information on the computer system to ensure planning processes are followed.

Requirements

· Preferred to have some experience in production environments and can demonstrate experience of working in a role that requires the highest standards of quality.

· Preferred to have understanding of food manufacturing environments.

· There is a regular requirement to be involved with receipt of raw materials, weighing and sieving of materials as well as loading filling equipment. These activities require manual lifting of up to 25kg however, in line with manual handling training, these activities can be shared with a 2-person lift especially if the lifting position is awkward or frequency prolonged.

· Preferred to have some familiarity and confidence with the use of process equipment

· Preferred to have understanding of GMP processes and an understanding of terminology associated with process controls
