This role is based in the prestigious Merrythought Factory, which has been producing the finest quality British Teddy Bears since 1930. The position will cover a variety of tasks within the production line, where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and become fully trained throughout the factory.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful candidate will be ‘hands-on’ in helping across many stages of production - from cutting, to stuffing, assembly and adding the finishing touches! - providing an opportunity to learn and develop a range of skills.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Cutting
  • Assembly
  • Packing
  • Labelling
  • Embroidery
  • Machine Operations

The role would suit someone who is eager to develop their skills and contribute to the overall productivity of the team, and who possess the flexibility to tackle a variety of different tasks. Good interpersonal skills and a willing ‘can do’ attitude are essential.

Things to consider

There may be some lifting involved although nothing to heavy, work is always indoors and the general conditions in the factory are very good. There are some jobs which will mean a lot of standing, such as cutting.
