We want to build a team of champions. That’s why Wavin is currently looking for a Production Team Leader to join our team at our Clayware Operations,at our Forest Works, Swadlincote site. If you want to make a difference and work for a purpose-led company, please read on.


The role

Reporting to the Site Shift Manager, the Production Team Leader will work Monday to Friday, 3 rotating shifts of Days (06:00 to 14:00), Nights (22:00 to 06:00) and Afters (14:00 to 22:00). As a Production Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising and assisting the operational activities of Forest Works Manufacturing processes in line with planned site operational and Health & Safety objectives. As well as developing and influencing individual team members, ensuring that they are clearly aware of both their personal and their team objectives.


Responsibilities

  • To carry out all activities in a safe manner and drive compliance & improvement of health and safety by maintaining discipline, by safety concern & near miss reporting, by actively participating in safety campaigns and scheduled site safety activities.
  • To be flexible, co-operative and productive at all times, covering any Production role as necessary
  • Drive functional and cross functional shift handover effectiveness
  • Identify & address people and process performance issues
  • Participate in the development, implementation and delivery of improvement plans
  • Provide relevant reports as required on a shift, daily or weekly basis
  • Develop motivate and influence individual team members, ensuring they are clearly aware of personal and team objectives via the management of personal development targets
  • Identify the necessary skill sets within site teams & support recruitment and training
  • Use & promote short interval controls, systems & behaviours to control operational costs and to utilise resources efficiently
  • Proactive in continuous improvement, systematically identifying & highlighting new ideas and enthusiastically challenging and improving processes
  • Constructively participate in team meetings and team briefings
  • To immediately consult your Line Manager if unsure about, or incapable of meeting, any aspect, timing or frequency of your duties

Profile

  • 4 GCSEs including Maths and English
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy required for report writing and data interpretation
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • ILM level 3 – Management / Leadership and IOSH Managing Safety qualifications are desirable
  • Previous SAP knowledge would be advantageous
  • Good working knowledge of H&S legislation
  • Practical experience in clay manufacturing would be advantageous
  • Must be able to positively influence and build good working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable work ethic.
