Job Description

The successful Production Supervisor will:

  • Manage Spraying and Plaster shop personnel including but not exclusive; training, allocation of daily duties, holidays, sickness, working hours, performance
  • Communicate with Spraying and Plaster shop teams to keep them updated on company requirements, progress status and encourage two-way input on issues and successes
  • Plan and schedule work within departments giving clear planned instruction
  • Communicate closely with other departments to ensure continuation of flow and maximise yield output
  • Work closely with other departments to provide support during daily running and special projects
  • Accurate recording and entering of production data to give traceability and facilitate trend analysis
  • Update and enforce standard operating procedures to promote process/product continuity, safe practice and quality standards throughout processes
  • Lead the teams to identify and implement continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Enforce Health and Safety rules, ensure correct PPE is worn, promote safe working practices and VBS philosophy. Complete any accident / incident documentation
  • Ensure product quality standards are met and effective inspection is in-place
  • Represent Spraying and Plaster shop by contributing in internal management meetings

  • Able to plan and execute job prioritisation
  • Communicate and relate well at all levels
  • Able to work within a team or independently under own initiative
  • Willing to voice opinion but also accept an alternative view and motivate others towards a common goal
  • A practical approach with good problem-solving instinct
  • Supportive and reliable and flexible, able to motivate by promoting loyalty via mutual respect
  • IT literate, preferably with good Excel skills and power point presentation
  • Good interpersonal skills able to train and to coach

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
  • Lean Management experience
