Responsibilities

Delivery of Production Plan and Earned Hours

  • Effective allocation of resource to deliver the production schedule on time and in full. Ensure that earned hours in plan are recovered and headcount in line with forecast.
  • Ability to understand earned hours requirement and take action to correct any gap between actual and plan.
  • Effective control of absence, including holiday planning and absence management and return to work interviews.

Development of Team Capability

  • Effective and ongoing training and development of the team to ensure the correct skillsets exist to deliver the plan and are such that absence and holiday can be mitigated.
  • Ensure all associates are trained and working to approved work instructions and SOPs, and in accordance with line balance and quality instructions.
  • Training and development to ensure all associates are aware of relevant EHS requirements e.g. incident reporting, near hit raising, manual handling, correct use of PPE etc.
  • Training and development to ensure all associates are aware of MSA OP system requirements such as 6S, Gemba, basic problem solving etc.

Driving Improved Quality

  • To be fully aware of any customer issues, and ensure all relevant investigations and countermeasures are applied in a timely manner.
  • To ensure appropriate systems are in place to detect and measure all quality issues within the process.
  • To improve internal defect rates by use of a visible DMAIC process.

Establish Effective working relationships with key support departments

  • Understand who key stakeholders are and how they can help deliver results within manufacturing. Ensure that support depts are aligned to and delivering against objectives and requirements that enable the achievement of manufacturing objectives. This would include Planning, quality, EHS, manufacturing engineering, HR, material supply and Engineering.

Build engagement

  • Understand and deploy ways of working that effectively build engagement within the team.

Commitment to ongoing personal development

  • To recognize development needs and identify appropriate plans to ensure successful ongoing development.

Maintain ERP Integrity

  • Understand and execute tasks required by themselves and their teams in a correct and timely manner. Including all material movements and transactions, productivity bookings etc.
