Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.

We are currently recruiting for a Planning and Procurement Lead to join the team, working Monday - Friday full time based at our Ripley site.

Responsible for ensuring production plan in place that satisfies customer demand on time and in full (OTIF), and meets other business needs, i.e. health and safety, OEE etc. Utilise IFS, Mattec and Microsoft Office to communicate the plan effectively to stakeholders in a timely manner. Work closely with other departments to ensure issues relating to the plan are addressed. Work cross functionally on continuous improvement projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for the availability of manufactured components and finished goods in order to achieve an OTIF service level to our customers consistently above 95%.
  • Ensure Injection Moulding, Extrusion and Assembly areas have a production plan issued in a timely manner, that satisfies customer needs, whilst also maintaining targeted production outputs and OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
  • Work cross functionally with the Manthorpe team on projects that will enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Take responsibility for the accuracy of IFS data, and continuously improve said data, including BOM, routing, safety stock, pallet quantities, standard order quantities etc.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement in the key areas of planning, procurement, stock holding and delivery performance. Define and track progress via a range of KPIs, including stock holding, OTIF, etc.
  • Lead and manage the Production Planner(s).
  • Foster an open approach and communication style towards colleagues. Role model behaviour. Pursue regular communication routes with peer group/colleagues.
  • Develop opportunities for cost savings, via production and purchasing CI (continuous improvement) initiatives.
  • To take a proactive role in daily production and KPI meeting.
  • Fully utilise and take ownership of the IFS ERP system for planning via MRP.
  • Working closely with the Internal Sales team to ensure that any planning issues related to customer service are understood and actions taken to prevent repeat occurrences.
  • Creation of new products on IFS including BOMs, routings, sales and inventory parts.
  • Delivering monthly and weekly reports to management team.
  • Maintain stock levels and raise purchase orders for goods directly related to the production plan.
  • Maintain supplier relations and actively pursue opportunities for cost saving and stock holding reductions.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of purchasing and planning processes and techniques.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Passion for customer service, cost and stock reductions and a track record of continuous improvement.
  • Project Management.
  • Degree educated. Preferably CIPS or engineering.
