JRS are recruiting for a Production Planner for our client in Hook due to company expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful manufacturing company in their newly established planning department.

We are looking for a Planning professional to work alongside the Planning Manager to ensure the scheduled work plan is updated, providing administration support and ensure that the MRP is consistently up to date.

This is a varied position which requires a flexible, methodical approach.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

  • Manage the planning and scheduling of works orders to ensure sales orders are planned according to customer lead time and shipped on time in full
  • Manage allocation of Sales orders to ensure key dates achieved in full and MRP can run effectively
  • Prepare MRP to ensure it runs effectively and is processed as per agreed schedule
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure any issues identified potentially affecting the production process are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure system promised dates are adhered to, working closely with the procurement team to ensure any issues identified potentially affecting the orders are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Main point of contact for all sales order status updates and queries including escalation of issues, and reporting on any delays, increased risks or missed milestones for sales orders on a weekly basis
  • Liaise with relevant departments to support resolution of any issues raised, review the impact on works order and advise accordingly

Required Skills

  • A team player, with a strong desire to succeed, a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Confident in dealing with day-to-day queries independently
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and strong excel skills
  • Good understanding and experience of SAGE 200 ERP or similar, along with ERP and MRP systems
  • Have a high level of initiative and ability to influence and engage with key members of the organisation and customers
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Change agent who can challenge and drive process improvements
  • 5 years’ work experience in a Planning role
