Production Operative

Our client based in Lincoln is a family run, independent, corrugated, and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer with over 20 years’ experience.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Operative to join their team as soon as possible.

Initially, the role will be a temporary position but does have the potential to turn permanent after a 12 week probationary period.

The hours of work for the Production Operative are 06:00-14:00 Monday to Friday for 2 weeks, then moving to 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday for 2 weeks on an alternating shift pattern.

The pay rate will be £10.00-£11.00 per hour (once fully trained). Benefits include free car parking and easy access from the city centre.

Duties of the Production Operative will include: -

  • The Production Operative is responsible for operating several machines including the die cutting machine, semi auto box maker stitching and gluing finishing machine and the manual box machine
  • The Production Operative should be at the machine ready to operate promptly at the time of start and hand over to incoming colleagues as needed
  • Ensure all maintenance and housekeeping is carried out and recorded including use of compactors and filter press
  • Operation of a forklift when required
  • Help to meet production targets
  • Operate in line with health and safety regulations
  • Be part of a fire response and first aid team as needed
  • Use PPE and wear appropriate clothing as provided

The successful candidate should have experience in a modern manufacturing environment, a willingness to take part in any training required for the role including forklift and first aid/fire awareness training and able to work well as part of a team.
