Production Manager

Salary: Competitive, DOE + Benefits

We manufactured the very first UHV valve and we head some of the most advanced vacuum research, coupling this with over 50 years excelling in the research and scientific industry we have incredible grounding in the needs of our customers.

We are now recruiting for a Production Manager to assume responsibility for managing and delivering all aspects of production throughout the factory.

About The Production Manager Role

You will be working with the Production Planning, Purchasing, Engineering and Sales departments to deliver products on time and to specification.

You will have responsibility for Production Staff and our Cell Leaders to ensure that their work orders are delivered on time and that the efficiencies and quality are achieved.

In Addition To This, You Will Be Responsible For
  • Execution of the production schedule in line with customer requirements delivering quality products on time.
  • Achieving target efficiencies and set actions for improvement.
  • Driving continuous improvement of all manufacturing processes and controls.
  • Meeting on time delivery objectives.
  • Establishing and maintain up to date process documentation.
  • Evaluating operational resources building capability and develop talent to address skill gap and succession planning.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the Operations Strategy.
  • Effective people management managing performance and motivating staff on an individual and team level.
  • Establishing clearly defined expectations and performance criteria.
  • Working with H&S to ensure that all policies are followed and that employees work in a safe manner at all times.
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • 5+ years’ management / leadership in a manufacturing environment with operational responsibility in production.
  • 5+ years’ experience in precision parts in production series or bespoke process involving CNC machining, turning, milling and assembly of precision parts with practical experience of assembly techniques.
  • Comprehensive experience of managing ISO 9001, QMS and Lean processes and tools.

It Would Be Great If You Had
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Tools experience.
  • Broad knowledge of state of the art manufacturing methods.
  • Cross functional business team experience preferred with production planning an advantage.
  • Degree or HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
