Fourth Element is a market-leading dive and water sports apparel company. We create products that perform in the world’s most extreme environments as well as working to minimise our impact on the planet and our oceans.

We are seeking an experienced and well-versed production manager to join our Design Team in our Cornwall HQ on a full-time basis.

In conjunction with our design department head, this person will be responsible for the planning and execution of initial production orders to meet launch deadlines, supporting our Design Department to effectively manage the critical path of new product development through to initial bulk delivery. This role demands a high level of organisational skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Location

This role will be based in our head office in Helston, Cornwall. However, due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the successful candidate will be home based until it is safe for our staff to return full time to our offices.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties will include but not be limited to the following:

· Agree and establish critical paths for all new products being developed by the design team

· Ensure deadline for photoshoot and salesman samples are met, highlighting and solving any issues that arise

· Ensure the initial production / manufacture of new products enable bulk to be delivered on time to meet deadlines

· Establish and manage supplier relationships

· Negotiate terms and supply contracts with manufactures and suppliers as required

· Oversee the production process of new and bespoke products

· Agree and Manage the production schedules with manufactures

· Day to day contact with manufacturers

· Manage testing of fabrics or garments to ensure any necessary certification or quality standards are achieved eg Fire

· Retardancy and / or Thermal Protection

· Manage and purchase all raw materials, fabrics and trims, to enable the manufacture of new products

· Ensure production is cost effective

· Manage price and cost data and present accurate costings for the manufacture and delivery of new products

· Liaise directly with suppliers to ensure critical delivery dates are met

· Liaise with our logistics manager as necessary on the initial and subsequent or future orders

· Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmes

· Ensure all our suppliers achieve and maintain fair working conditions and pay for their employees.

· Ensure child labour is not used in the manufacture of any of our products

· Liaise and communicate with all fourth element departments involved in bringing new products to market with the appropriate assets in place.

· Working with managers to implement the company’s policies and goals

· Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed

Skills and Experience required

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention and process driven
  • Strong communicator, able to negotiate prices and liaise with multiple manufactures and all relevant departments across Fourth Element
  • Adaptable and collaborative with the ability to prioritise
  • Strong team player
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent knowledge of garment production process
  • Excellent knowledge of garment production process cant experience of scheduling, planning and prioritising workflow to deliver on company deadlines
  • Previous experience in performance/ technical garment manufacture
  • Experience of supplying public sector contracts is desirable
