Your role:

As a result of continuous growth, the opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join our Manufacturing team at our Barry site.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role will be responsible for overseeing the pallet manufacturing departments. Ensuring that the teams work safely and efficiently to ensure optimised production. You will supervise and direct the personnel responsible for every stage of production to ensure manufacture of high quality and cost-effective pallets. This will also involve planning and organising production and ensuring the availability of necessary material, equipment, and people resources required.

You will be responsible for implementing periodic quality inspections to ensure customer expectations are being achieved, and that the pallet meets our internal specification/ tolerance levels. You will have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. You will also ensure stock accuracy and stock rotation by ensuring all production paperwork correct and maintained

You will play a key part in the team to assist in the induction process and training of all new production employees, ensuring that a safe system of work is always maintained, identify training needs and suggest actions to rectify. You will consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.

As a Production Manager you will, be competent in analysis, assessment and measurement. You will also have proven supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment and an understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain. Confidence, decisiveness and excellent attention to detail are key to success. A good knowledge of OEE, 5S and lean manufacturing would be advantageous.
