We are looking for a Production Manager who is passionate about production, process & people to support & optimise the production team in delivering the manufacturing plan for the site and ensuring quality results every time.

Reporting to the Site Director, you will have full responsibility for the Thermoforming production area. You will be responsible for developing department performance via productivity optimisation & continuous improvement programmes; positively supporting change initiatives, product quality, data accuracy and ensuring SOPs’ are current and in line with industry best practice.

Your role will involve:

  • Overseeing all production activity within the factory, monitoring progress against production targets to ensure customers receive their products on time and to the required standard.
  • Identifying & implementing improvement projects focused on quality and production efficiency, minimising production waste, looking for ways to improve production quality, speed and methods, collating all production information highlighting and resolving issues.
  • Ensuring high levels of utilisation to meet site KPI’s, addressing issues relating to ‘down time’ & taking action to recover volume shortages.
  • Promoting a Health and Safety culture, ensuring Food Hygiene standards and practices throughout production
  • Motivating & leading the production teams, identify and promote a people development environment.
  • Working alongside Business Development, Quality and Engineering teams to implement improvement plans.
  • Monitoring production performance, presenting performance information regularly to the business

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Hands on shop floor production management & proven experience - this role is varied, and you must be passionate about production, process and people.
  • Strong production process / management and Health and Safety experience and knowledge, with an appreciation of engineering knowledge and skills
  • Excellent motivational team leadership experience and skills, effectively leading the production teams.
  • Excellent planning, negotiating and organising skills.
