Job Description
  • Responsible for all aspects of operations and provide first line management and technical skills (on days) to lead a team of Shift Manufacturing Technicians in safe and efficient manufacture.
  • To manage activities in compliance with site, company and regulatory requirements, e.g. SI’s, HSE policy and standards, COMAH (Health and Safety Executive) and PPC (SEPA) etc.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the team whilst delivering key business driven targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with all SHE, operational and quality systems.
  • Monitor operational performance, initiate action as necessary to maintain and improve standards.
  • Monitor plant performance and materials management to ensure MRP and CRP disciplines.
  • Investigate and solve technical problems, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Efficiently utilise resources.
  • Responsibility for operational costs.

Qualifications
  • Typically, a minimum of two years’ experience in plant operations.
  • Key manufacturing and / or engineering procedures knowledge.
  • Knowledge of internal HSE procedures and good practice.
  • A HNC or equivalent in a chemical or engineering related discipline (desirable).
  • Previous experience of man-management and / or technical management (ideally 3-5 years).
