Production Engineer - £30,000 - £40,000-Newcastle Newcastle We are delighted to be supporting an exciting British manufacturer who design and produce a wide range of consumer and commercial products. With a 40 year history, as this business continues to grow they are looking to recruit a Production Engineer into the business. As a Production Engineer you will work in a cross functional team and be responsible for the selection, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly processes. Job Description of a Production Engineer
  • Continuous improvement of existing machines / processes on the shop floor.
  • Selection of new assembly process/techniques.
  • Specification/Development of new equipment/tooling.
  • Testing new and existing production processes, finding ways to reduce costs and maximize quality/efficiency.
  • Ability to train staff in new and existing processes on lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and management in developing new manufacturing technologies.
  • Creation. Of technical files and operating instructions.
  • Machine/process introduction including:
  • Creation and maintenance of SOP’s. Skills & experience of a Production Engineer
  • Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical background, with hands-on experience in designing and setting up production lines for new processes.
  • Software knowledge (MS Office, 2D and 3D CAD)
  • Improvement and lean manufacturing experience.
  • Experience of PFMEA, cycle time, factory layouts etc are desirable. Why Should You Apply?
