We are currently looking for a Production Coordinator to join our team based in Dunbar Cement Plant, Scotland.

Role Responsibility

The Production Coordinator (Pyro Process) has an important role in leading and driving the production department’s contributions to support the Work’s performance and reliability goals, including short, mid, and long-term strategic planning.

The role is responsible for managing the pyro processing manufacturing lines (Kiln, Raw Mill, Coal Mill, Fuels, Scrubber & Dewatering) and the shift teams to optimise performance and to achieve the plant and departmental KPI’s and objectives for safety, housekeeping, environment, quality, production, and costs.

There is also ownership of performance monitoring and incident investigation relating to the shift production activities, including responsibility for coordinating with the engineering and process teams in planning and the development of reliability strategies.

Plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant. This may involve night working, weekend and Bank holidays and being on call if necessary. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the plant runs with a high level of safety, efficiency and complies with all regulatory norms.

The role also involves the constant interaction with many stakeholders, i.e. process, maintenance, quality, environment etc., to ensure the smooth operation of the plant and produce good quality clinker and cement.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, self-motivated individual who possesses a knowledge of cement manufacturing process and equipment technology with the ability to handle a number of complex issues simultaneously.

Specific Requirements;

  • BSc in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Process / Chemical / Technical / Engineer qualification to an NVQ level 5 or equivalent
  • IOSH certification
  • Team leadership
