Manta Makes is an independent family business run by a Husband and Wife team. We are a wood engraving and printing company, started from zero and built from the ground up since 2015. Overall Purpose of the Role
Developing our printing department, you will be part of a small but fast growing and hardworking team. Your role will involve running printing machinery of three different kinds (sublimation, laser and UV printing) as well as ensuring the print area is clean and organised. You will help us improve accuracy and efficiency of our processes to keep up with our growing orders. It is a repetitive job, and if you are looking for lots of variation - this position won’t be for you.

We like our team to be trained on a variety of machinery and processes to add variety to the job but also to cover holidays and peak periods.

What you will be doing :

  • Correctly loading media onto our UV printing machines
  • Printing mugs using Sublimation presses
  • Printing with laser engraving machines which are large format machines that cut and mark wood sheets
  • Pre-emptive daily cleaning routines of all printers
  • Ensuring the print area is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Liaising with the supervisory to ensure correct stock is being printed
  • Administration like stock control, and packing and supporting work in relation to the manufacturing and workspace
  • Quality Control is extremely important
  • Waste Control eg recycling, maintaining waste tanks of printers etc
  • New product development, we positively encourage new ideas and welcome your contribution.
  • Where needed at times you will be required to assist in other areas of the business to cover holiday or sickness such as packing, prep or finishing
  • Working 5 weekdays / possible optional overtime at peak periods

Essential Skills - Abilities

  • Eager to learn / can do attitude
  • Organised and tidy
  • Computer Literacy / experience with Windows

Experience

Experience is not everything. We have many staff who have come with no print experience but a desire to learn to some with extensive knowledge. We would welcome applications from either applicant. Salary dependant on experience.

  • 1 year of Print machine experience (Experience in wide format printing, textile printing, dye sublimation printing, pigment printing, UV flatbed or latex printing) ideally - but we are willing to train the right candidate as everyone needs to start somewhere!
  • Ability to use a computer

Hours: 7-3 but we do have a degree of flexibility - half hour lunch paid
