As the GEA family is growing, we are looking for a Product & Systems Support Engineer to join our team in Ross-on-Wye. In this role you will provide class leading support to our customers, both internal and external.
Reporting to the Product Support Manager, the Support Engineer will be responsible for:
Providing technical support for all our products to staff at Ross as well as our customers via the telephone, email, and interactive resources.
Providing on-site technical support assistance in the correct commissioning, troubleshooting on our compressors, packages, chillers, heat pumps and controls.
Providing our customers with quotations for Grasso conversion kits (GCK) as well as on site assistance in the installation and commissioning of these kits.
Liaising with our factories in Holland and Berlin regarding technical questions in relation to compressors, packages, chillers, heat pumps and controls from our customers.
Managing the warranty register for compressors, packages, chiller, heat pumps and controls and liaise with our client data base on warranty issues.
Demonstrating and supervising where necessary the dismantling and re-assembly of GEA products to our customers.
Providing technical guidance for upgrades or replacement equipment
Analysing control system data from GSC and Omni to identify faults or problems
Programming of in-house control/automation system (Omni) for customers use
Opportunities to travel to factories in Europe for training and as part of technical working groups
Emergency on-site support
Your profile and qualifications:
At least 5-10 year refrigeration experience – preferably industrial refrigeration
Preferably product of component sales or support experience
Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office
Self-confidence and assurance
People skills
Planning and organisation skills
Networking and negotiating experience
Be analytical and technically inclined
Be able to communicate expertly in written and oral form
Be assertive and professional
Flexible and mobile when the job demands it
GEA RT Components offer formal training in our factories as soon as normal travel resumes.
Technical product overview training – covering the product, capacities, features, and applications etc. This can also be delivered by our in house sales team.
Service training – covering product support topics such as, mechanical diagnosis, stripping and repairing, maintenance etc.
Controls training Omni – covering fundamentals, right through to basic programming.
Local training within the workplace, on site and with our experienced colleagues, covering all the above with the facility of having test equipment and a huge library of equipment data
