With responsibility across the Media Operations lifecycle from scheduling & playout to media ordering & fulfilment, the team are experts at delivering new services across the end-to-end workflow. Additionally, the team support and deploy IT Business Systems and solutions used by several International business units. The breadth our responsibility includes:- Business Development Support & Governance
- Business Analysis & Requirements Capture
- Project Management, Delivery Methodology, Reporting & Accountability
- Product Management, Product Roadmap & Solution Design
- Service Transition, Integration & Change Management
- Workflow Optimisation, Business Process Engineering & Productivity Improvement
- Act as a Product Owner for an area within the NBCU International Product Portfolio
- Act as a ‘squad lead’ for an area within the NBCU International Product Portfolio, leading a team of 3rd party Solution Engineers, UX designers and QA testers in developing new features and workflows
- Own the roadmap for your area, feeding into an overall roadmap for the NBCU International Product Portfolio
- Following an agile process, lead and own solution design and implementation for initiatives within International Media Operations
- Own and deliver projects/initiatives assigned to you and delegate to your squad as required
- Assist in defining the vision, strategy and roadmap for our software products
- Act as an advisor, SME and consultant to the Head of Product and the IMO leadership team on key decisions
- Act as 2nd line support for Product issues and ensure resolution
- Provide training on our products and workflows
- Ensure that best practice is always upkept for project/product documentation
- Manage any requirements for development within your squad to ensure issues are prioritised effectively
- Produce and maintain documentation about our products and solutions that makes it easy for users and support to understand how they interact and troubleshoot
- Contribute to the Integration and Delivery planning processes, feeding in future requirements for your roadmap and projects
- Ensure that solutions are aligned with agreed technology strategy and architectural principles
- Provide system configuration and integrations to meet project requirements if required
- Ensure the successful implementation and rollout of new services, workflows and products and provide support to end users, operations and support when projects and changes are going into BAU
- Educate teams in International Media Operations and externally in the wider business on new solutions or functionality post project implementation
- Provide effective liaison between technical and non-technical audiences, both internal to NBCU and 3rd parties
- Some International travel may be required
- Degree in a technical discipline desirable
- Significant experience in Product Ownership and related methodologies
- Broadcast and media workflow experience
- Experience with developing B2B software products desirable
- Experience with launching and managing VOD services desirable
- Strategic thinker, able to envisage and deliver innovative end to end solutions to support business requirements in a large international media organisation
- Clearly understand the business drivers behind each solution developed and also be able to articulate complex technology solutions in a manner understood by business stakeholders
- Knowledge of broadcast media systems, such as channel, content, rights, asset and subscriber management systems, that support the content management lifecycle for linear broadcast, on demand and OTT services
- Good knowledge of software development methodologies and processes, ideally hands on experience of working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Good knowledge of User Experience principles and experience with designing efficient user interfaces preferred
- Experience with release management, including testing new software releases for broadcast systems
- Able to see the big picture while at the same time have a keen eye for detail
- Experience managing senior stakeholders, building buy-in through written and verbal communication
- High emotional intelligence, demonstrating self-awareness, self-control and ability to lead and inspire others
- Proactive with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, planning and time management skills
- Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise, and perform as part of a team to meet project objectives
- Methodical, organised and have a hands-on approach
- Self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative
- Confidence to assess a situation and take action
- Experience with delivering in a project environment
- Able to multi-task
- User of Jira and Confluence
