We pride ourselves on working closely and collaboratively with our clients to craft intuitive user experiences and valuable products across a wide range of industries, technologies, and clients.

Our reputation as a partner determined to deliver high-quality, robust and thoughtful end-products has enabled us to scale to over 200 people in the last couple of years, and we are preparing for further growth at pace.

We care about hiring great people so you’ll be working with a team that cares. We support each other with problems, push each other to get better and celebrate success together.

We are a company that cares about building an inclusive, collaborative place of work where you can stretch yourself, personally and professionally. We value a diverse team and believe the variety of experiences and backgrounds in our team make us stronger.

The role

xDesign are looking for a collaborative and pragmatic Product Manager to join our growing team and help us define and develop an exciting array of products over a variety of industries, technologies and domains.

Our Product Managers are responsible for working with senior leadership, our internal design and engineering teams and our clients to help define and deliver product solutions, from early stage research and market analysis through to development, delivery and iteration.

Our projects typically involve two broad phases - Discovery and Delivery
  • In the Discovery phase, you’ll work with our clients to reduce the risk and uncertainty of their value proposition. You’ll collaborate with end users and experts from Design and Engineering to validate that the client’s idea is feasible, desirable and viable. Using discovery techniques and product management frameworks you will get insights on whether the general product direction is correct and course correct rapidly. You will validate the direction with strong customer evidence that the product proposition is likely to be successful.
  • In the Delivery stage, you will understand the product proposition and product strategies which will drive success for the client. It is up to you to work with the client to prioritise the work to be done, so that they get to market early with a Minimum Viable Product. You will use your skills as a Product Manager to keep delivery on track by focusing on building the most important features and getting them into the hands of users early, whilst keeping aligned on the product vision. Your passion for making data driven decisions will help you and the client steer the product development to get the most value out of the product and continually iterate, optimise and refine their product into something that customers love.

What you’ll be doing
  • Turn vague ideas, market insights and evidence into solid business models
  • Identify and map user pains, gains and Jobs to be Done onto tools, like a Value Proposition Canvas, to identify what is important to end users
  • Identify key hypotheses about a product proposition, and test with appropriate experiments
  • Your insights from the experiments are used to validate the desirability, feasibility and desirability of an idea
  • Develop product strategies to help prioritise the work to be done for a minimum viable product (MVP) and align these with the client’s North Star or Vision
  • Communicating the product vision to internal development teams and key stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the product team to learn, feedback and improve on xDesign’s specification and delivery process
  • Facilitating pragmatic decision-making and product discussions, both internally and externally
  • Managing the backlogs for projects that are in active development or have entered a maintenance phase
  • Managing and facilitating solutions for emergent product issues during active development
  • Defining and monitoring the metrics which drive the success of the product and guide feature development

Requirements
  • You have experience working as a Product Manager
  • You have previously worked in an innovative, agile environment
  • You have experience working on Web and/or Mobile applications
  • You have experience of taking a concept and validating it’s value, using Product Management tools and techniques
  • You have experience of testing hypotheses and experimentation to validate ideas
  • You have experience of interviewing end users
  • You have experience of using analytics and other product data to support product decision making
  • You have experience of identifying product strategies and prioritising work to align with the product strategy
  • You are able to facilitate workshops with clients and can easily communicate ideas to a variety of stakeholders
  • You are able to define a product roadmap and enjoy working on creative solutions with the development team
  • You are comfortable working in an autonomous environment
  • You are a bright problem solver
  • You bring energy and enthusiasm to the workplace

We encourage you to apply even if you do not feel you meet absolutely all of the criteria outlined in the ‘Requirements’ section. Having the right attitude and approach trumps specific experience for us, and we are happy to support you if you are looking to take the next step in your career.
