What are we working on?

Historical travel data can only help that much when predicting travel demand. Our team at Cirium faces the challenge of using contextual data to decipher what past travel patterns left unexplained. By disrupting historical travel patterns Covid-19 made contextual data even more critical in predicting intention to travel. Restrictions, sentiment, and special circumstances influence today’s travel decisions more than ever.

By joining us you will have the opportunity to share ownership in solving this problem end to end. From exploring new data sources, building robust data pipelines, to designing and deploying predictive models and ensuring they perform consistently over time. We have terabytes of flights, events and news data and we are consistently adding new sources to answer customer questions.

As a Product Manager for Cirium you will work closely with our machine learning and engineering teams to lead or directly influence one or more of the cross functional product developments.

We believe in autonomous teams, so you should expect a challenging and diverse role with tasks spanning the commercial and technical spectrum.

What you will be working on:

• Build a deep understanding of our customers needs and hone in on the questions worth answering.

• Define our competitive positioning and keeping on top of broader industry developments.

• Develop a vision for the direction of the product, defining the problems we need to solve and leading prioritisation to maintain the backlog.

• Track progress, assess our impact and drive delivery.

• Lead communication with the rest of the business and working with product marketing and sales engineering to document our capabilities.

• Make our machine learning capabilities accessible for our customers through cross-functional collaboration and deep technical interactions.
  

You are also expected to take a meaningful role in shaping our product management setup and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Who will you be working with:We are a technology and data science team acquired by Cirium (part of RELX). We focus on bridging the gap between online media and industry through understanding how demographics make choices based on past and current behaviors. One of our primary products Predict leverages unstructured data around the web to measure intent for travel. This is then applied via automated and manual controls to pricing and demand estimation systems for travel companies (primarily airlines).
