Are you an experienced Product Manager? Or alternatively, are you ready to make that progression into a senior role? If so, then this job is for you! My client is involved within the government workflow operating within the safeguarding arena and protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. This sector provides services that enable organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make better informed, safer recruitment decisions. As a Product Manager you will develop and own the product roadmap, make informed prioritisation decisions, champion user needs and effectively communicate the product vision in a complex delivery environment.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

As the Product Manager, you will work closely with the business leads third-party suppliers and existing digital services to seek out opportunities to optimise delivery whilst ensuring quality standards are maintained. This role will be to manage and develop the DBS’s data warehouse product used by internal customers and to support the wider PO community in delivering other products. The right candidate will develop and own the vision, backlog and roadmap for your product, regularly iterating the product to meet changing user-needs whilst maintaining alignment to the overall DBS strategic direction and GDS standards and guidelines.

Some of the responsibilities you will undertake as the Product Manager are;

Implement agile practices and processes to allow teams to collaboratively build the right thing in the right way. Play an active part as a member of the directorate management team (DMT), leading the organisation and undertaking corporate duties on behalf of DMT. Support the DBS Board and its committees as required. Set measurable and valuable goals for the product and report against these to demonstrate progress Create effective, prioritised user stories and road map which meet user needs in a cost-effective way. Keep abreast of changes to user needs and behaviours across other DBS products and digital platforms to understand their implications for successful delivery of government digital services Have an understanding of the agile and digital working methodology including best practice and skills to both internal and external stakeholders.

Experience Required

Experience of being accountable for owning products, processes or services, setting product visions which deliver against corporate objectives, setting direction to drive improvement based on user needs. Experience of working in an agile delivery team and familiarity with delivery techniques and tools. Evidence of involvement in the delivery and ongoing management of high quality, successful products, processes or services Ability to establish, maintain relationships with senior managers and influence at all levels. Recognised Product Manager certification or equivalent.
