• Lead the technical development and delivery of hardware projects for the Hygiene & Wellbeing business, working as part of a multi-functional team.
• To initiate and manage the technical activities involved in the design and execution of hardware devices and product packaging.
• Work with product development colleagues to define robust and thorough qualification programs to approve product hardware.
• Set appropriate manufacturing and quality expectations with third party suppliers.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time, to the right quality and to specification.
  

• Work with internal and external global third party suppliers to develop bespoke designs as well as the qualification of ‘off the shelf’ technologies for use within the RI businesses.
• Ensure that these new innovations meet the agreed specification related to performance, quality, regulatory and cost requirements.
• Support the development workstream within multi-functional project teams to ensure coordinated delivery in a timely manner.
• Lead meetings to achieve project goals.
• Support PMO by recording progress and driving completion of actions through the disciplined use of project trackers after each engineering build or tool trial.
• Work with the product development team to support markets, supply chain, quality assurance, regulatory and operations teams where applicable.
• Ensure that the product approval elements are completed ahead of a product technical sign off.
• Support and communicate project plans to enable the product development team where applicable.
• To provide technical recommendations and solutions to problems where applicable.
• Responsible for maintaining technical relationships with suppliers where applicable.
• Support the current business through root cause analysis and resolution of product quality issues with products pre & post-launch.
• Capture technical learning and test data in comprehensive written reports. Provide technical assessments on readiness for launch and risk mitigation plans, based on evaluation against pre-defined project success criteria and an understanding of commercial requirements
  

• A minimum of a good honors degree in an engineering or similar discipline or demonstrable experience working in product delivery for at least 5 years.
• A good engineering background with proven experience of working with teams and working effectively within a matrix organisation structure.
• A good communicator, calm under pressure and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Experience and being happy to work across borders, regions and cultures would be beneficial.
• English speaking is essential. Further languages an advantage
• Able to manage and deliver a complex project portfolio whilst also identifying opportunities for further simplification, standardization and cost optimization.
• Good analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to generate and interpret technical data, provide conclusions and recommendations for follow up action accordingly.
• Commercially astute with an understanding of product cost structures and knowledge of financial considerations required to assess the commercial viability of new development initiatives.
• Knowledge of regulatory affairs at a regional or international level would be beneficial
• Able to collaborate within multi-functional teams, working beyond the direct sphere of influence to deliver results. Effective partnering with peers to deliver against common goals (both face to face and within ‘virtual’ teams). Ability to communicate both verbally and in written format to different levels within an organization.
• Working knowledge and use of common IT applications including G suite, Adobe. Solidworks CAD experience preferable.
• Statistical engineering and data improvement experience/capabilities - with knowledge of 6 sigma desirable.
• Experience in process design in the fields of fluid and air handling is desirable.
• Experience in FEA and analysis software is desirable.
