Monday to Thursday 7.30-4.30, Friday 7.30-12.00

Up to £45,000 per year depending on experience

About You

Are you experienced and innovative Product Development Engineer with expertise in designing, developing, and testing electronic products and have knowledge of worldwide compliance testing standards.

Ideally qualified to a minimum of HND/HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline, but your experience is what matters to us more. If you can communicate with others and can work as part of a team with a mind for design, development, and innovation, we would love to hear from you!

About The Role

As a Product Development Engineer, you will be a supporting member of the product development team, carrying out product compliance tests to ensure our products are safe and compliant for markets around the world.

You will test prototypes and production products to gain feedback and analysis to continually improve the design of our products, working closely with the design, process, and prototype teams to achieve increased market share and return through cost effective and timely development of innovative new products.

Responsibilities

· Capable of working on a broad range of gas, electrical or combined fuel domestic appliances

· Capable of setting up and monitoring tests, preparing models for submission to the appropriate test authority

· Create and fulfil the test plan against the products

· Maintain internal design and test verification test methods in line with the latest approval standards

· Support the development engineers by drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions

· Periodically Benchmarking existing products against that of competitors

· Interpret marketing briefs into tangible product that can be manufactured within the business capabilities

· Writing and publishing detailed and comprehensive test reports internally and management of risk for the team

· Produce both technical presentations and applied samples as and when required in support of sales for customer demonstration and information

· Create and maintain internal design and test verification test methods in line with the latest approval standards

· Actively support test time reduction through Continuous Improvement principles
