The role

You will be based from our offices in Thame, Oxfordshire on a Fixed Term Contract. The working hours are 08:30-17:00, Monday - Friday although we will consider flexible/reduced hours

About The Role

What will I be doing?
  • Review of current policies and practices around safety stock levels, order quantities and general buying administrative processes.
  • Review of current supplier agreements and approach to buying (cost vs quality vs security of supply).
  • Review / define supplier standards and selection process.
  • Review / define supplier KPI +and management process.
  • Gain a theoretical understanding of the ERP in use and suggest improvements.
  • Engage with group procurement team to review access to existing negotiated rates/SLA.
  • Educate procurement officer (new to role) by taking them on the journey of transformation
  • Where necessary, support the immediate need for alternative products / suppliers by applying best practice to reduce the potential of repeat
  • Participation in group procurement team meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure Company’s Health & Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality Strategies, Policies and Objectives are adhered to and report any deficiencies to your Line Manager
What are the requirements?
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience of procurement/purchasing, supplier management and defining strategy and processes in this area.
  • Excellent computer skills (specifically MS Office and ERP/MRP systems).
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to multi-task.
