Lakeland Cosmetics are looking for a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager. This all-rounder will have proven experience in purchasing, supply chain and production planning. This job is based on site in our GMP accredited cosmetics manufacturing facility in Workington, Cumbria.

Manufacturing cosmetics and personal care products spanning from hand sanitisers, anti-bacterial hand wash, bath, body, and male grooming products, as well as more niche markets such as pet care and seasonal products. Job Summary

  • Purchasing all of the packaging and raw materials required to fulfil the production plan.
  • Responsible for the management and improvement of cost prices, contract management, streamlining the supplier profile and improving lead times.
  • Procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management.
  • Manage purchasing costs for stock, commodity items and services ensuring it is competitive.
  • Manage and review pricing negotiation strategies to attain the best terms whilst managing supplier portfolio.
  • Contracts negotiation and management, putting long-term strategic framework agreements in place.
  • Production planning and creating demand plans based on historical sales data and sales forecasts from our customers.
  • Delegating tasks and work orders to production and fulfilment supervisors.
  • Working with the commercial team on new projects, and creatively sourcing new material and finding alternative suppliers.
  • Supply chain management of inventory, packing, stock takes and distributing.
  • Identifying and minimising risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to the process
  • Using our ERP system to create production plans, work orders, purchase orders and create stock take plans.

What We Need From You?

  • Amazing IT skills with in-depth knowledge of various IT systems including ERP systems and high standard on all Microsoft packages especially excel.
  • High-level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional talent in negotiating and saving the business money.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
  • CIPS Qualification (desirable)
  • Buying experience within manufacturing & production environments.
  • Experience of onboarding new suppliers and audits.
  • Capable of identifying cost saving opportunities and delivering cost down projects.
  • Purchasing all raw ingredients and components to keep production lines running.
  • Be highly analytical and good at problem solving.
  • Proactive, well organised and able to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
