ChampionX is seeking to hire a Procurement Manager (Indirect) to join our team in Aberdeen.

Brief Role Description

The Procurement Manager provides strategic category oversight and optimization of Indirect spend of around $30M pa, comprising information technology, professional services (HR, finance, marketing, etc.), travel, fleet and supply chain spend (logistics, facilities, capital, and engineering) and other related spend categories. This position typically reports to either a Senior Procurement Manager, Procurement Director or Procurement Vice President.

Working as the primary focal point for key business stakeholders across multiple functions, the role will provide the candidate with an opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership, accountability and flexibility in managing the complex needs of the business. What You Will Do
  • Lead by example the local, regional, and global safety and ethical initiatives
  • Steward for Procurement Policy Compliance
  • Identify, develop, and implement sourcing strategies and initiatives to reduce total delivered cost (TDC) and improve security of supply for assigned categories
  • Lead, develop, coach, mentor and inspire business stakeholders
  • Understand how to drive results via normal channels as well as informal channels and identify current & future sourcing needs
  • Monitor, analyze, communicate and provide guidance for market cycle impacts and trends
  • Monitor, analyze and determine taxonomies of spend for continued spend visibility and accuracy
  • Effectively negotiate, execute and manage contracts aligned of ChampionX core business needs
  • Drive efficiency improvements in conjunction with R&D and Supply Chain to ensure availability at required quality & costs levels
  • Identifies potential suppliers and manage ongoing internal/external business relationships
  • Effectively implement strategic supplier strategies and initiatives
  • Lead foundational and advanced Total Delivered Cost (TDC) workshops
  • Effectively communicate sourcing strategies, results, and metrics to leadership teams as required
  • Use procurement tools and sourcing processes to improve results & increase efficiencies
  • Effective collaboration with local, regional global sourcing teams and stakeholders
  • Lead and drive structural changes to solve systematic quality and service issues
  • Align resources for constructing, adapting and executing project plans
  • Establish a framework for monitoring project progress and deliver on key milestones.
  • Be viewed as subject matter expert on sourcing strategies
  • Effectively use best in class problem solving techniques and Develop processes that eliminate loss
  • Develop understanding of current business climate, industry trends and key business priorities
  • Results focused and driven by key performance indicators, linked to P&L improvements
  • Understand broader impact to business/stakeholders when implementing
  • Manage crisis (force majeure, etc.)
Minimum Education And Experience
  • Degree in related discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Business – CIPS Diploma as a minimum)
  • Several years Procurement Sourcing experience (Ideally within Indirect Sourcing environment)
After spending 1-2 years in this position an associate will have the following key experiences:
  • Driving net structural savings, supply chain enabled sales and cash flow improvements
  • Responsibility and accountability implementation and local execution of sourcing strategies
  • Gain strong business and financial acumen
  • Develop collaborative cross-functional relationships to meet internal business needs
  • Learning and application of the Total Delivered Cost (TDC) sourcing process
  • Team management and leadership skills as well as Basic coaching and mentoring skills
