Then look no further ... We have an excellent 3 year Fast Track Procurement Apprenticeshipopportunity, based at Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

You’ll take responsibility supporting the P&SM team in all their activities, such as project and contract management related activities, management of business support requests and maintaining an up-to-date view of key reporting and performance metrics for the team. This is a great opportunity to get a real understanding and develop your skills and competencies across P&SM practices and procedures, Group policies, values and relevant standards.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

  • have a demonstrable interest in a career in procurement and supplier management
  • hold a minimum of 2 A level qualifications at Grade C or above (or equivalent) or 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Job responsibilities:

Active member of the P&SM Shared Services function:

  • To be a central point of contact in managing business partner queries relating to P&SM, working with the team to resolve
  • Take ownership of the dept. mailboxes; responding where appropriate,
  • Triaging to the most appropriate P&SM team member; and engaging the business directly to address responses to queries and emails within stated service times.
  • Supporting with the new supplier set up process, ensuring that requests are correctly processed in line with governance requirements

Working alongside the Procurement Data and Contracts Analyst to:

  • ensure project, contract and spend data is accurate and to aid with the reporting requirements to the team.
  • Understand and utilise data to support the P&SM Team in contract and spend management.
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times

Job-specific competencies - Experience & knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of Procurement and Supplier Management practices would be beneficial but not essential
  • Business administration experience preferred

Skills & Qualifications

  • Analytical and able to assess and articulate data sets
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving and the ability to find resolutions
  • Competent use of software (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of PowerBi, but not essential.
  • Successful completion of Apprenticeship Training Provider’s pre-entry assessment and eligibility checks
