Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager you will be responsible for providing support to a Procurement project team on a variety of procurement activities including dealing with tender queries, drafting procurement elements of business cases, defining procurement strategy for some smaller procurements and assisting in large scale procurements, ensuring the needs of the project team are met.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Working closely with project teams and Procurement Managers in order to provide effective procurement support to meet the needs of colleagues and the organisation
  • Dealing with tender queries from suppliers and the business over email or phone and answer questions and provide advice where possible, escalating when needed
  • Drafting small scale business cases, or contribute towards larger business cases, providing technical advice and presenting in a clear concise way to achieve the required needs and achieve buy in from stakeholders
  • Responsible for administering IT systems in order to keep records up to date to support the effective tracking of disputes and resolutions with suppliers
  • Using procurement knowledge/experience for continual improvement of the procurement lifecycle.
To be successful

  • You will have an understanding of basic procurement processes
  • You will have experience of supporting procurement exercises in a project environment
  • You will have good customer service and communication skills
  • You will have demonstrable stakeholder and supplier management skills at all levels
  • You will hold or willingness to undertake Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification.
