Location:Uk Based- Travel Required

Salary:£30,240 per annum

Contract:Full time, Permanent

Hours:36.25 hours per week, – Monday to Thursday 8:45am to 5pm, Friday 8:45am to 3:10pm

What are we looking for?

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an entry level consultant to join the team In the field of process safety.

You will be responsible for providing support in the delivery of Process Safety consultancy to existing and new clients’ requirements (external and internal) working within the Process Safety team and developing technical knowledge and teamworking skills and behaviours.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Process Safety Consultant your role will involve:
  • Scribe and prepare Process Hazard Analysis studies including Hazard Identification studies (HAZID), Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Structured What-IF Analysis (SWIFT)
  • Complete simple modelling aspects integrated with Quantitative studies including Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Occupied Buildings Risk Assessment (OBRA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Complete and contribute to the development of sections of Safety Reports and Safety Cases in line with applicable regulations (e.g. Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH)
  • Scribe and participate in Risk Assessments for fire and explosions risk under applicable regulations (e.g. Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations – DSEAR)
  • Conduct simple relief and vent sizing studies in support of process hazard analysis
  • Produce technical reports, presentations and whitepapers to support consulting team
  • Contribute to development of technical topic including principles of delivery (e.g. method, toolkit used, techniques, internal training and quality assurance)
  • Provide technical, administrative and logistical support to the project delivery team when required e.g. ensuring documentation is available and ready, workshop study arrangements are in place (software pre-population, display method, invites sent etc).
About You

We are looking for people who can demonstrate:
  • Master’s degree (M.Eng/M.Sc) on Process Safety, Loss Prevention, Safety, Chemical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical Engineering (or any other relevant engineering discipline) OR
  • Up to 3 years of experience in a Process Safety (or equivalent) role
  • That they can provide professional and effective services to internal and / or external customers.
  • To communicate courteously with internal and / or external customers by telephone, email and face to face, building positive relationships, responding to and progressing issues and queries to a successful conclusion at the earliest time.
  • To speak positively and enthusiastically about the company and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image is provided at all times to customers and colleagues.
  • To work as part of a team to achieve the departmental standards.
  • To work together with other departments within DEKRA to identify any process improvements and improve standards, efficiency and profitability.
