Process Operator

We are looking for a Process Operator to operate manufacturing processes to required standards, delivering production plans, in compliance with defined operating instructions and maintaining the requisite SHE and Quality standards.

About the role

As a Process Operator with Victrex you will safely start up, shut down, operate & control the main BDF plant, distillation units, scrubbers and other equipment with minimal supervision. You will be trained in basic mechanical skills, in order to carry out some maintenance tasks.

You will react appropriately to abnormal process conditions exhibiting good troubleshooting and problem solving skills, using data to optimise process conditions within set limits. You will be responsible for entering accurate data into both Victrex & Landlord systems, so accuracy and attention to detail is important.

Within Victrex, Process Operators require a good understanding of Permit To Work system and other safe systems of work. They must have the ability to recognise and raise SHE issues via the AINMs system and to assist in local SHE audits and housekeeping tours. Additionally, we expect you to play your part in maintaining high standards of plant housekeeping and to to ensure safe working practices.

You will be expected to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and be involved in their delivery.

Your experience

Our ideal candidate will bring previous experiences of hazardous chemical plant operation, preferably Siemens PCS7 controlled. You will have working knowledge and experience of safe working systems such as permit to work, COSHH, risk assessment and plant operating instructions.

We are looking for someone with basic mechanical skills and problem solving experience to provide frontline engineering support. You ideally will be trained in the following;

• FLT
• CSE standby duties and firewatch
• PTW acceptor

Due to the nature of the role, you must be capable of carrying out physical work such as lifting and climbing stairs and ladders. This is a 24/7 shift working role and attracts a Shift Disturbance Allowance in addition to the basic salary.
