Job Title:Process Development Technologist

Location:Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1QD

We are a food manufacturing site in Clitheroe looking for a Process Development Technologist to join the New Product Development team. The successful candidate will support the NPD Process Manager and the NPD function on site with managing product trials and launches in a hands on, factory-based role.

Ideal candidates will have experience in an NPD role with previous customer interaction as well as experience in the chilled food sector being preferable. They will be a team player with well-developed interpersonal skills, who is confident with factory and development teams.

Effective written, verbal communication and presentation skills are key along with being able to manage multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Duties

  • Site based resource within the development team to manage NPD & EPD projects from approved concept handover to launch.
  • Working in a fast-paced chilled food manufacturing environment on a wide variety of products & packaging formats for major retail customers.
  • Manage the transition from head-office kitchen concepts through the manufacturing site to ensure that products are technically sound, meet customer specification requirements, time-scales, site’s production requirements & budgets.
  • Planning & delivering factory trials to provide customer samples, micro & sensory evaluation samples. Reporting on trials & evaluating data to ensure customer quality requirements & agreed product costs are achieved. Trouble-shooting any potential issues found at trial by working with site & head-office colleagues to agree & action solutions.
  • Generating documents for scale up from concept to launch based on production trials & quality assessments etc. to ensure successful product launches for the business & customers.
