Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

YOUR IMPACT

The Equity Structuring & Managed Strategies team within Private Wealth Management are currently seeking a cross-asset trading and structuring analyst or associate. The team is comprised of product specialists who provide investment ideas and trade execution in cross-asset structured investments, as well as running discretionary option overlay and structured product businesses. As a cross asset trader/structurer within the team, your role will primarily revolve around structuring, pricing and executing customized securitized derivatives investments on behalf of clients, and help drive continued growth in a versatile cross asset business. The role therefore entails both a technical markets-oriented aspect, but also combines it with the requirement of solving complex financial goals for clients. You will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and client service are essential to maintaining and enhancing our business that covers the entire PWM EMEA region.

Responsibilities
  • Structure, price and execute complex securitized cross-asset derivatives transactions on behalf of PWM clients
  • Work closely with clients and Private Wealth Advisors to brainstorm, price and present strategic and thematic investment ideas
  • Manage external dealer relationships to enhance the value-add of the cross-asset platform to clients
  • Take ownership of the trade lifecycle, including pre- and post-trade processes and analyses
  • Self-starter, with ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment and across group functions and regional offices
  • Liaise and partner with colleagues in Compliance, Legal, Operations and Management on a variety of projects
  • Participate and drive business development initiatives, contribute to platform expansion and potentially the introduction of new product lines
  • Work and learn from a well-established and experienced team of Product Specialists, Portfolio Managers, and Investment Advisors
Experience / Skills
  • Strong interest in global financial markets. Prior derivatives experience is preferred, but not essential
  • Preferably 1 - 4 years’ experience in a structured products, derivatives sales, structuring or trading seat
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a risk management mindset
  • Ability to multi-task, demonstrate efficient time management & work under pressure
  • Solid work ethic with a demonstrated passion to learn and grow
  • Motivated team player who can contribute in a small, cohesive team-trading environment
  • Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic record
