Manage and coordinate the activities of Buyers working in the Procurement team to maintain appropriate supply levels throughout the business, ensuring timely delivery of all materials to support the site wide production schedule.

  • Develop effective and professional relationships with PCI’s approved suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company. This is to include regular business review meetings with key suppliers.
  • Manage supplier performance, ensuring issues are resolved and corrective actions implemented to prevent repetitive faults.
  • Create and maintain robust KPI’s in relation to supplier performance, OTIF and associated measures.
  • Analyse Procurement spend for site and identify opportunities for cost savings / alternative value for money strategies.
  • Ensure Procurement team are operating at the most effective level, utilising appropriate negotiation tactics and developing supplier relationships.

Knowledge:

  • PC literate, with ability to work with MS Office packages unaided
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials / planning parameters
  • Thorough knowledge of wider purchasing / supply chain concepts, such as S&OP

Experience:

  • Considerable experience in operational / strategic purchasing within a pharmaceutical / food / manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in SAGE, MPS/MRP, MS Project, MS Excel
  • Significant experience in supplier management & negotiation
  • Previous management experience

Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Proficient in standard Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to interact unsupervised with clients, suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Able to manage & prioritise own workload without supervision
