Sabre seeks a proactive, savvy and resourceful communications professional, responsible for developing and delivering high-impact media communication strategies that raise awareness of Sabre in technology, business and mainstream media in EMEA. The candidate will be responsible for managing and leading PR efforts for a number of Sabre’s EMEA markets – specially Southern Europe – and will work closely with leaders and other members of the EMEA communications team. As member of the global Corporate Communications team, the candidate will also be required to support global initiatives where required.

This is an exciting position that will suit someone who can drive results in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be a strong writer and communicator, and understand how to use communications to drive positive results for the business. Experience in technology and travel is advantageous, but not necessary. Experience on the sustainability front would also be a major plus.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and deliver proactive communications plans and activities that position Sabre as an innovative technology partner to airlines, travel agencies, hotels and the broader travel industry
  • Develop content that positions Sabre as a challenger and thought leader, at the forefront of key trends in personalisation and travel distribution
  • Identify media opportunities that increase Sabre’s profile and coverage in technology, business and mainstream publications in EMEA (specially in Southern Europe).
  • Support the EMEA PR team with content and ideas that can be used in region
  • Build and develop key media relationships, and respond to media and industry queries
  • Help Sabre’s communications director build and implement a global sustainability communications strategy
  • Drive measurable collaboration across Corporate Communications, Marketing and Commercial team to ensure key communications plans, narratives and content deliverables are used to maximum effect
  • Champion the use of channels including social media, blogs, video content
  • Support and coach internal executives and experts for keynotes, panels, interviews and speaking opportunities
  • Monitor competition activity and making strategic recommendations
  • Be part of a global media team that provides counsel and messaging for issues and actively promote and protect Sabre’s reputation
Must Have Skills:
  • Strong and relevant experience in PR / communications, gained from corporate in-house or agency with minimum five years’ experience
  • Experience of managing PR activity across multiple regions, ideally within Southern Europe, e.g. managing a network of agencies or supporting a variety of regional offices
  • Fluent and able to do business in English, French, Spanish and Italian
  • Must have gained relevant experience working with Southern European companies/media
  • Exceptional English-language writer and interpersonal communicator, with the ability to draw content from technical internal sources and produce clear and compelling communications in a variety of formats
  • Must be confident dealing with different teams and cultures from around the world, in English language
  • Experience of working for or with a large global company
  • Deep understanding of how technology is shaping and advancing the everyday lives of individuals as well as organisations
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering communications plans, and a knowledge of working with trade and national media
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including leaders, peers and subject matter experts
  • A forward-thinker who has a keen eye for topical events and potential news stories
  • Ability to work effectively under challenging deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar) in journalism, public relations, communications or a related field
