Principal Practitioner

Directorate: Prevention Access and Provider Services

Service Area: Adult Social Care and Health Integration

Salary: £37,890 - £39,880

Hours: 37.00 hours per week

Over the last 2 years we have been working to improve the support provided to adults over 18 who are experiencing multiple disadvantages due to homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and sexual exploitation. We are now in a positon to pilot a new team which will be line managed by our Safeguarding Manager with close links to Middlesbrough’s new Integrated Services Model and our Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) work.

The team will operate over a 12 month pilot to measure the effectiveness of a dedicated service who are able to work in a trauma informed way with increased flexibility to address system issues.

The Team will consist of a Principal Practitioner, Social Worker and x2 Social Care Workers. The team will also have close links to the MEAM coordinator who is currently in post.

As the Principal Practitioner you will be responsible for supervising the Social Worker and Social Care Workers, under the direction of the Access Safeguarding Manager. You will also be expected to embed the social work role within the Integrated Services Model. In addition to this you will manage a small complex caseload.
